Festival Coordinator and Technical Director for The Players Theatre Short Play & Musical Festival, 2018-2021 Seasons

The Players Theatre Short Play & Musical Festival produces three - three week festivals - three times a year:  Sex! (February), NYC (June) and Boo! (October).  Submissions are gathered from all over the country with 15 short plays or musicals being selected by a panel of judges for each festival.  Each week a winner - selected by audience vote - receives the honor of "Best of the Week" and $100 prize. The shows are produced entirely by the playwright and their team and are presented at the Steve & Marie Sgouros Black Box Theatre - located on the 3rd floor of the historic Players Theatre in the heart of Greenwich Village - NYC.

2017 Street Theater, Checks and Balances or Bottoms Up

The Annual Summer Street Theater is a free operetta-for-the-streets that tours 13 locations in all 5 boroughs of New York City. Begun in the early 1970s and embodying the grassroots ideals of that decade, Street Theater aims to raise social awareness in the communities it performs in, creating civic dialogue that inspires a better understanding of the world beyond the communities' geographic boundaries. Street Theater plays to an estimated 25,000 people each summer. The set shown below was assembled and disassembled at every location by our crew of 15. While interning at Wicked, Elizabeth worked under Marybeth Abel and the Wicked stage management team.  Elizabeth assisted the team with daily operations along with creating various spreadsheets for the SM team's long term use.  Elizabeth had the opportunity to shadow every backstage department during her internship.  Additionally, Elizabeth had the privilege of assisting Marybeth Abel with rehearsals on the Gershwin Stage and in the Gershwin rehearsal studio.

Stage Manager for Mix It Up! Italian Style 2016

Description:
Busch Gardens Williamsburg is seeking Show Operations stage managers who are detail-oriented, highly motivated, and proactive. Our stage management positions fuse the fundamentals of theatrical stage management and company management practices, with responsibility to lead, supervise, and take ownership of the rehearsal process and subsequent daily operation of their assigned show venue or event product. This role manages multiple performances and/or multiple productions each day with a focus on maintaining show quality, developing and motivating their cast and crew, facilitating communication, and creating a harmonious work environment.

 

While working as a stage manager at Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Elizabeth was responsible for the following:

  1. Area supervisor for the San Marco Theatre at Busch Gardens Williamsburg, located in the Busch Gardens Italy area.

  2. Stage Manager for "Mix It Up", located in the San Marco Theatre located in Busch Gardens Williamsburg's Italy area.

  3. Approving time cards for the performers of the "Mix It Up"

  4. Cast and technical team.

  5. All performer and crew scheduling.

  6. Performer reblocks when ensemble members were absent.

  7. Worked closely with Brass, Percussion, and Visual Ensemble captains to run warm ups and touch up rehearsals.

  8. Calling all cues based upon audience reaction and visual ensemble work.

  9. The creation of paperwork, rehearsal reports, and performance reports.

While working in Studio Operations, Elizabeth was responsible for the following:

  1. Creating renter badges for admission into The New 42nd Studios.

  2. Studio floor walk throughs. Checking that the studios are cleanly and all materials are accounted for.

  3. Upkeep of current broadway show excel spreadsheet.

  4. Knowledge of phone and transfer system throughout the New 42nd Street.

  5. Management of the 5th floor Studio Operations window. Providing renters with rental information, keys, mail, etc..

  6. Knowledge of floor rental spaces and google calendar.

  7. Email data entry for pervious renter requests.

  8. Helping with preparation for special events

  9. Ongoing research to ensure that the Studios are meeting the needs of the performing arts companies in the building.

  10. Some interaction with performing artists and stage managers.

  11. Helping to maintain current records of studio rentals, department expenses and equipment.

Description:
The Operations Department of The New 42nd Street is responsible for the day- to-day operations and long-term planning of 14 rehearsal studios and a blackbox theater (The Duke on 42nd Street). Apprentices in this department will be involved in all aspects of the Studio building operations. The bulk of duties will be administrative and office-related.
